Security
Q: How do ambulances and/or fire trucks gain access?
A: A 911 Box located on the gate allows all emergency vehicles access.
Deliveries
Q: How do UPS, FED EX, US Mail deliver to homes in the gated sections?
A: Owners should have an access code for deliveries. The US Postal Service can access the gate for delivery much like the EMS can. Should the owners not want to allow UPS, FED EX etc., access codes, the Visitor Center may become a drop off point, with written permission from each owner to accept packages without liability for lost, stolen, etc. deliveries. The owner would need to make arrangements for picking up the packages during the Visitor Center’s normal hours of operation. This needs to be given careful consideration if the Visitor Center is to be used for this purpose.
Contractors
Q: How would contractors scheduled to service a home gain access, such as landscapers, repairmen, pool contractors, etc?
A: The owners should be home when contractors are scheduled to come to service their home. Giving out three digit codes for access to the gates certainly undermines the limitation of access. But if the owners want a three-digit access code that can be given to the landscaper, pool contractor etc. this can be programmed per household.
On-going construction
Q: If gating is approved, the owners will be responsible for the streets and curbs. How are the builders held accountable for the damage, if any during construction? Are the gates left open, during the construction phase, from 7:00am – 5:00pm? Will this limit the construction?
A: The HOA will do a Pre- and Post-Construction inspection. The responsible builder will repair any damage.
Q: Are the gates left open during the construction phase in the neighborhoods?
A: While there is new construction on-going within the neighborhood, the gates will remain open during traditional work hours (6 a.m. to 6 p.m.). The decision to close the gates on the weekends will be made after we are able to have discussions with builders and residents.
Access recording
Q: Will there be documentation recording the codes used and/or entrance and exits? Time, dates etc.?
A: The system will have the ability to record codes used by both residents and guests. Time and date will be recorded on a continuous loop of 1000 to 1400 entrance gate activations.
Visitors
Q: How do I allow my guest(s) access?
A: The gate will have a telephone system where the guest, contractor, etc. can dial a code from the list on the gate inventory board (usually listed by last name and or street number) that connects them with the resident to get access to the gate. The owner will press a predetermined number into their phone that will activate the gate for their guest(s).
Number of gate remotes per address
Q: How many gate remotes will each residence receive? Will the remotes be given at the time of the welcome packets from the Visitor Center staff?
A: A decision is required as to the number of access remotes provided at no cost and then what cost would be charged for additional remotes. Depending on the type of remote, there will be some owners who will not require remotes as they can program the code into their cars. If these type remotes are used the owner should be required to pay, if there is an established charge, as the remote cannot be used for another owner.
Electrical Outage
Q: How do residents gain access and or exit in the event of a power outage?
A: The gates operate on a DC battery system with continual recharging. In the event of a power outage, the gates will open automatically and will remain open until power is restored. Gate operations will return to normal when power is restored.
Pedestrian Access
Q: Will we be able to walk or ride our bikes to the Rec Center or Nature Area once the gates have been constructed?
A: Yes, the gate installation will include a pedestrian gate equipped with a keypad locking system. This will allow secure access to the neighborhood without the need to carry keys or cards for access.
